Designing custom jewelry is my life's work and my passion. When you come to Jewelry Set in Stone, you work directly with me, from the first conversation to the finished piece.
My path into jewelry started early. In 2005 I graduated from Chelsea High School with an achievement in jewelry design. Three years later, on the recommendation of an art teacher, I began an apprenticeship with a custom jeweler here in Chelsea.
That apprenticeship is where I learned to carve wax and set stones, skills I still rely on today. I went on to train in repair and metal fabrication under Master Jeweler Quang Nguyen.
During my apprenticeship I studied diamonds and gemstones through GIA, the Gemological Institute of America. That knowledge helps me recognize the beauty and possibilities in every gemstone. Whether you're selecting a loose gemstone, sourcing something exceptional, or exploring the possibility of recutting a stone you already own, we'll help you find the right approach for your design.
Alongside my work at the bench, I earned an associate's degree from Washtenaw Community College and a bachelor's degree in business from Eastern Michigan University. In 2013 I became head jeweler at a jewelry business in Brighton, Michigan, specializing in repair and metal fabrication.
In 2015 I founded Jewelry Set in Stone on a simple belief: the person who wears a piece should help shape it, and the person who designs it should craft it.
Every piece begins with a conversation. You bring the story, the meaning and the moment, and we shape the design together until it could only be yours. Then I personally bring your design to life through hands-on fabrication, transforming your ideas into a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry.
If you're bringing a family piece, its stones, and its gold where suitable, can become part of something new. We assess what can be reused.
Outside the studio, my family reminds me every day how meaningful the little moments can be. That appreciation for life's important connections is something I carry into my work.

Jewelry Set in Stone is in The Sylvan Building at 114 N. Main Street, Suite 5, in Chelsea, Michigan. Visits are by appointment, so we can focus on bringing your ideas to life.
